Get ready to TURN BACK TIME in this outrageous new musical!

Tuesday night (28/2) saw the opening evening at Venue Cymru of the hit show The Cher Show.

The production is directed by Arlene Philips and choreographed by Oti Mabuse is running at the North Wales venue until Saturday (4/3).

Venue Cymru specialises in bringing the top hit shows and this show is up with the best. A fantastic stage set up and lighting makes the audience feel they are live at a Cher concert.

The show itself tells the story of the singer and movie star (plus comedian) Cher’s life from the 1950’s through to 1998. A fascinating tale of love, lose, fame and showing a side of anxiety and wanting to belong starts with a 16 year old Cher being played by Millie O’Connell. A lovely actress she portrays Cher with a strong voice hitting every note with classics like ‘I’ve got you babe’.

The story continues as Cher separates from her Husband and Father of her first child, Sonny. Danielle Steers plays Cher during these years where she’s trying to find herself and still having Sonny have some sort of hold over her as she fights her emotions. Danielle’s role is played beautifully and during the Cher’s time that she plays Cher finally believes she could be ‘strong enough’ to do it alone.

Finally, though she plays the most resent version of Cher throughout the play, Debbie Kurup takes centre stage as Cher that deals string to find herself post 40 years old, the death of her Sonny (Lucas Rush) that she made so many memories with and releasing the classic club anthem, Believe.

The Cher Show is in it’s final two weeks of it’s 2022/23 UK tour and tickets are available at the Box Office at Venue Cymru, calling 01492 872000 or online at https://www.venuecymru.co.uk/cher-show.
